Adventure Tour

One of the attractions that we rarely encounter is to see life directly wildlife unspoiled’s not easy for us to see first hand the life of dragons in their natural habitat. Need no preparation and specialized knowledge, but it will pay off with tremendous experience on the island that go in 7 natural wonders of the world.

Komodo Island is an island located in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. It may take a 3 hour trip to Komodo Island from the Port of Labuan Bajo is the entrance to the island of Flores from Bali and Nusa Tenggara.

Komodo with a large measure of our arrival when it arrived on the island which has now become a National Park. Initially the fear of getting struck the mind as the basis of information, including the Komodo dragon in the cold-blooded animals. Be thankful that we took a Rangger (the name for the handler dragons) which will always accompany, maintain, and bring the group to look at as they circled the island of Komodo.

It did not take long to drive the Rangger dragons that look dangerous. Finally we were able to enter the location of the island of Komodo. However, unfortunately one of our colleagues, can not follow a trip to the island because it was having my period. Indeed, the fact there have legislation that says if a woman is menstruating should not enter into the island of Komodo dragons because of the sense of smell is very keen on the blood and could endanger travelers.

Shortly into the island inhabited only by people from the Ministry of Forestry to keep the island of Komodo, the atmosphere seemed barren. Just seen the mud-dried mud and mangroves that serve to maintain abrasion. However, we must always be careful and cautious because any time dragons could be around us. Well, because dragons are animals with a high level of camouflage, if not careful can be fatal.

Not long after we arrived at the shelter where visitors gather to receive a briefing from the Rangger before exploring the island. In a briefing to explain Rangger Komodo Island area, what if we meet dragons, what can and can not be done for exploring the island, and use repellents because this area is forested. Incidentally, a mosquito that previously had captured a fairly large size. Rangger explained as he showed a tool to keep the dragons from the participants when on the way met with dragons.

Next, prepare to repel the usual wooden dragons, use a lotion, mineral water and do not miss seeing how we will pass through the terrain of the hills. On the way we had to go through a wooden house that serves as a kitchen. Very easy to find the Komodo dragons waiting-fed here. However, from the explanation Rangger, komodo dragons-here are not fed, they must find their own food.

In addition to cold-blooded dragons are also known as Animal Cannibal. It is not uncommon when you are walking you will find dragons, dragons that are fighting and one another.

Along the way Rangger tell how dragons feed herself with food. Komodo dragons are known as cold-blooded animals, have a unique way in mancari prey. Komodo approaching prey and a small bite or lick, the prey will die within 2-3 days. Because the Komodo dragon saliva contains thousands of highly virulent bacteria.

Then, what about humans? “There was once bitten by dragons keepers, Thank God there is to know and be given antibiotics,” said the ranger.

After a 15 minute ride we arrived at a hill that reaches approximately 20 meters. A short break, then resume the journey to the top of the hill. Before me and his entourage arrived at the top of the hill, we found the back of a dragon under the tree, and dwelt in the bush. Suddenly we were shocked and away from the dragons. Thanks to the rapid response Rangger immediately sterilize the area.

Superb views, this location is often used by TV stations and a photographer to take and capture the natural beauty of Komodo Island. Without wasting time we continued exploring the hills and down into a place where the dragons lay her eggs.

Along the way Rangger told about how dragons lay her eggs and guard them from enemy attacks. Komodo is also an animal camouflage make a few holes to store their eggs until the babies born dragons. When viewing the site there are about 5 holes. Three holes are on the front and two in the rear. The Rangger could not provide information related to the existence of which the eggs are located.

“I do not know that there are eggs which the nest apart because if we would hit its laws,” he said.

The satisfaction of seeing the beauty, grandeur, and the uniqueness of dragons lifestyle, we went back to the original post. However, in the way we found a baby dragon who is less than 10 cm. Though it looks tiny to be careful.

It was an unforgettable experience to come to this island. Indonesia’s natural beauty has a magic of its own value. Begin its natural state is pretty unique and beautiful to life and fauna species that exist in it. It is appropriate when the island of Komodo to be one of the seven wonders of the world.
